It depicts a Jewish man or merchant carefully examining an Etrog (a yellow citron fruit) against the backdrop of Jerusalem's Old City. The Etrog is used during the holiday of Sukkot, known as the harvest festival, one of three pilgrimage festivals during which Jews who were able visited and worshipped at the Temple in Jerusalem. Sara Weitzman (Israeli, b.1967) is a Jerusalem-born oil painter whose works created in the classical style include landscapes, portraits and Judaica.
