Ernest Albert Land (American, 1918-2006) served in World War II after which he worked as a professional painter at Grand Central Galleries in New York City. In the 1960's, he settled in the Washington area. He painted for NASA at Bailey's Crossroads. He also restored the Jupiter Locomotive for the Smithsonian for the Bicentennial celebration.
