Description: Item/Description: German Arts & Crafts mahogany and brass desk box attributed to Erhard & Sohne. German Jugendstil movement document box, trinket chest. Crafted from mahogany wood with brass decorative inlay and hardware. Top depicts marching knights on horseback in full armor. Wonderful detail and craftmanship. Hinged lid. Brass feet. Hinged latch and brass locking plate. Unsigned.
Erhard Sohne was granted the world patent for the manufacture of brass inlay in 1904.

Dimensions: Length: 8"; Width: 4 3/4"; Height: 2"
Condition: Good. Signs of age, use and wear including surface scratches, scuffs to brass, patina, spots of oxidation, missing wood piece on inside of box near hinge. Hinged lock closes. No key. Remnant of old adhesive paper label to underside. Box has not been cleaned or polished.
