Louis Majorelle (1859 -1926) was a renowned French artist, cabinetmaker, furniture designer, and ironworker. He was one of the leading exponents of the Art Nouveau style, incorporating flowing lines in polished woods, accented by Art Nouveau bronze mounts in the 18th-century tradition. His works brought him an international clientele and he exhibited widely and opened shops for his designs throughout France.

Dimensions: Height: 31 1/2"; Width: 20 1/2"; Depth: 11 1/2"

Condition: Signs of age and wear include broken foot (loose piece is included), surface scratches to glass.

Age: 1906

Provenance: Jaidi Collection. Purchased in 1983 from Macklowe Gallery, New York City. Original sales receipt included.
