Description: Item/Description: Original portrait photo of WWII era German industrialist, Alfred Krupp by American photographer, Arnold Newman ( 1918-2006). Renowned for "environmental portraiture," photographing prominent people in settings associated with their work, Newman had a great influence on 20th Century portrait photography. The subject, Alfred Krupp, was a controversial figure as an arms manufacturer for the Third Reich who insisted on slave labor in his factories.

Titled in pencil lower left: " Alfred Krupp 1963 Essen Germany ". Signed in pencil lower right: "Arnold Newman"; artist's copyright stamp on the reverse.
