Description: Item/Description: Lot of four decorative African masks. Includes:
- Liberian Dan style Guere Bugle (War Mask). Bugle masks, designed to frighten and causes unrest and disorder within the community to provoke a reaction. It is believed that the bugle mask was worn to prepare the village for war. Elongated mask features protruding jaw with carved wood teeth. Hammered metal strip accents. (Ceremonial, Tribal, Primitive, Spirit, Ritual, Sculpture, African Art)

Condition: Surface use and age wear includes some chipping and loss to metal.

- Dan style carved mask adorned with hand-hammered metal strip decoration to bridge of nose, bolted. Triangular eye sockets. Open mouth with carved raised tongue. Dark and light brown painted wood.

Condition: Surface, age and use wear includes chip to nose tip, spots of paint loss to mouth, edges of mask.
