In 1972, after buying a briar root and carving a pipe for fun , Luigi Viprati found his life-long passion. In the following years he became more experienced working with briar, and in 1984 he started to sign his pipes with the brand "La Pipa di Viprati". La Pipa di Viprati has since become known worldwide for their artisanal beauty and quality of craftsmaship.
